I hate the morbidity (possible word invention there) of the body count. If you lose someone you care about, it doesn't matter what the count was, one was enough.
I refuse to lose sight of the real human cost (perhaps on a more personal level) of this modern day Pompeii.
If it had been your grandfather in the nursing home, there's really only one of those 25,000 body bags that matters.
I regret making a joke or two in the first days of the hurricane, but honestly we had no idea.
Be good to each other, cause we are guaranteed nothing.
